OUTLOOK

The Cougars have their third coach in three years in Peet, but coaching changes don’t seem to affect Farr’s shooting. Farr, who averaged 17 points last year and was an All-Southern Section selection, is one of the county’s top three-point shooters. “Alisa is just lighting it up rom long range,” said Peet, who replaces Robbie Schmitz. “With her height (5-9), it’s tough for most guards to keep her from getting the shot off.” Capistrano Valley has a strong backcourt with Farr and White, who also averaged 17 points last year and is accurate from the 15-foot range. “It’s going to be hard to find a team with two better guards than Angie and Alisa,” Peet said. While neither is a true point guard, Ernisse returns to handle those duties after missing much of last year with a back injury. Duffin adds depth to the backcourt. Baker and the Scott twins, Susan and Katie, are expected to be Capistrano Valley’s top front-court players. Howes, who averaged eight points last year, is also expected to provide additional scoring punch. “We need our young post players to develop, and they’re coming along nicely,” Peet said. “Depending on the situation, we can go with a pretty big team or a quick team.”
