OUTLOOK

Troy was the only opponent in the Southern Section 4-A division last year that played eventual champion Capistrano Valley competitively, losing, 2-1, in the second round. Returning starters Lacher and Coon are among the top players in the league. Lacher batted .372 with seven doubles and 15 RBIs and had a 3-0 pitching mark with four saves and 1.81 earned-run average. Coon, who has signed with Cal State Fullerton, batted .362 with four homers and 15 stolen bases. Coon will bat third and Lacher fourth. Domen, who stole 29 bases on last year’s junior varsity team, will be the leadoff batter. “The biggest question mark is the catching position,” Ilertsen said. “Burchit or Hartford be will the starter.” Hartford threw a no-hitter against La Habra’s junior varsity team to end the 1991 season. Burchit is also the team’s No. 2 pitcher. Parmenter, a sophomore, will be the team’s relief pitcher. “This is an intelligent team,” Ilertsen said. “We have excellent speed and should play outstanding defense.” Troy will also reap the benefits of an outstanding feeder program, the Yorba Linda Little League.
