GIRLS’ BASKETBALL ROUNDUP : Kennedy Defeats Garden Grove, 56-52
Lynly Matsumoto scored six of her 21 points in the fourth quarter and added eight assists to help Kennedy to a 56-52 victory over Garden Grove in a Garden Grove League girls’ basketball game Friday night at Garden Grove.
Erryn Gutjahr scored 11 points and sophomore Damia Williams grabbed 11 rebounds for the Fighting Irish (9-3, 2-0 in league).
Denise Lutz scored 14 points for Garden Grove (0-2 in league).
In other Garden Grove League games:
La Quinta 53, Los Amigos 33--Linda Rodriguez scored 21 points and Ronnie Gondringer added 16 points for visiting La Quinta (1-1 in league). Carmela Zavala, who made the only three-pointer in the game, had 13 points for Los Amigos (1-6, 0-2 in league).
Rancho Alamitos 82, Pacifica 28--Akilah Rodgers and Tracy Keller, both with 19 points, led visiting Rancho Alamitos over Pacifica. Rancho Alamitos is 10-4, 2-0.
