SWIMMING ROUNDUP

In nonleague girls’ swimming:

Irvine 85, Mission Viejo 85--Led by freshman Wendy O’Brien and senior Amy Bodas, Irvine (4-1-1, 4-0) managed a tie against Mission Viejo (2-1, 1-1) with two strong finishes in the 200 medley relay (1:59.16) and 400 freestyle relay (3:43.20).

O’Brien, who won the 100 freestyle in 25.28, and Bodas, who took the 500 freestyle in 5:24.57, have qualified for the Southern Section meet. Lisa Hislop of Mission Viejo won the 200 individual medley (2:18.85) and 100 butterfly (1:04.89).

Canyon 137, Buena Park 45--Junior Alice Kim won the 200 individual medley (2:30.0) and 100 backstroke (1:09.2.) for Canyon. Teammate Lisa Hess won the 100 butterfly (1:03.2 and 100 breaststroke (1:13.5). Canyon is is 7-1, 2-0.
