TUSTIN — Tim Ellis was named football coach at Tustin High School, Mark Eliot, communication specialist for the Tustin Unified School District, said Tuesday.
Ellis was approved by the district’s board of education Monday night. He was an assistant coach at Cerritos Gahr High School last season and had accepted the job as head coach at Gahr in December.
But Ellis pursued the Tustin job after Marijon Ancich resigned. Ellis inherits a program that won four Sea View League championships and went to the Southern Section playoffs seven times in the last nine years.
