PREP ROUNDUP : Santiago Shuts Out La Quinta

Alex Caranza had six saves to record his sixth shutout as Santiago beat La Quinta, 4-0, in a Garden Grove League boys’ soccer game Thursday at La Quinta.
Antonio Diaz had two goals for Santiago (11-3-2, 9-0-1 in league), Enrique Argon and Danny Contreras also scored for Santiago.
In other Garden Grove League games:
Bolsa Grande 5, Pacifica 4--Miguel Mendez and Sergio Gutierrez each had two goals and Hung Mai scored one for Bolsa Grande (3-9-2, 3-5-1). Trevor Stivers scored twice for Pacifica (5-3-4, 4-2-4).
Garden Grove 3, Rancho Alamitos 1--Jose Blanco, Jason Meyers and Thin Tran scored for visiting Garden Grove (5-3-2 in league).
Kennedy 2, Los Amigos 0--Mike Clark scored both goals for host Kennedy (8-8-3, 4-3-2), which held Los Amigos to three shots.
In Sunset League field hockey:
Santiago 2, Westminster 0--Faviola Lopez scored two goals, the first of her career, for visiting Santiago (8-5-7, 4-2-6), which didn’t allow a shot by Westminster (1-7-3).
Huntington Beach 0, Newport Harbor 0--Goalie Nina Hsieh made all of her four saves in the final four minutes for Huntington Beach (5-10-3, 4-5-3). Lisa Raymond had one save for Newport Harbor (8-6-4, 5-3-4), which remained in second place.
