Lisa Pitt

Kennedy, Jr.

Softball / Pitcher

Because of a thigh injury, Pitt, one of Kennedy’s best hitters, didn’t bat last week. The injury apparently didn’t hamper her in the pitching circle. Kennedy Coach Sue Hall said Pitt is more dominating than ever. She opened the week by pitching consecutive no-hitters, beating Rancho Alamitos, 1-0, Tuesday and Bolsa Grande, 3-0, Thursday. She then pitched a three-hit shutout in a 1-0 victory over Garden Grove that kept the Fighting Irish alone in first place. Pitt improved her record to 11-1 and lowered her ERA to 0.30.

Other notables:

* Angie Fancuberta, Fullerton, drove in the winning run in the final inning in victories over La Habra and Sunny Hills.

* Wendi Griffin, Garden Grove, batted .600 with 11 runs batted in and seven runs scored in four games.

* Katie Mook, Foothill, finished second in the 300-meter low hurdles (45.26 seconds) and fourth in the 100 hurdles (15.39) at the Mt. SAC Relays.

* Jennifer Slaney, Los Alamitos, had two hits, including a single that drove in the game’s only run in a 1-0 victory over then-No. 1 Cypress.
