San Francisco 49ers right tackle Harris Barton had surgery to repair a torn triceps tendon in his left arm and will be sidelined for most of the season.

Barton, who made the Pro Bowl last season, had surgery Thursday at Stanford Hospital for a 70% tear. Coach George Seifert said doctors expect Barton to miss about 10 weeks.

Right guard Ralph Tamm, who also was hurt in the first quarter of the game against the Raiders, is out of Sunday’s game because of an injured left foot. He is in New York to see a specialist who works with ballet dancers, frequently victims of the same arch injury bothering Tamm.
