St. Genevieve Halted by Paraclete Defense : Football: Valiant effort results in negative yardage. Paraclete records eight sacks, two interceptions.

John Dagata scored touchdowns on a pass and an interception return to lead Paraclete High to an impressive 24-0 victory over St. Genevieve Friday night at Antelope Valley College.

Dagata opened the scoring with a 45-yard interception return.

His second touchdown came on a five-yard pass from quarterback Robbie Wood.

Wood completed 13 of 23 passes for 111 yards and two touchdowns.

His other touchdown pass was a seven-yard strike to Ian Savage in the third quarter.

Paraclete (1-1) dominated on defense as well, registering eight sacks and two interceptions.

The Spirits limited the Valiants (0-2) to minus-three yards.

St. Genevieve couldn’t move and quarterback Randy Iaccino did not last the game.

He injured his ankle early in the second half and did not return to the lineup.
