Orange County High School Football PREP EXTRA : St. Anthony Rallies to Beat Orange Lutheran

Joshua Zak completed a nine-yard touchdown pass to James Romero late in the fourth quarter to lift Long Beach St. Anthony to a 23-21 victory over visiting Orange Lutheran.

Zak’s touchdown with 2 minutes 46 seconds left, capped a 10-play, 59-yard drive.

With 8:06 left, Orange Lutheran offensive lineman Jake Anderson recovered a fumble in the end zone for a touchdown to give the Lancers (1-1) a 21-17 lead.

Orange Lutheran drove 62 yards in the final two minutes to set up a field-goal attempt, but Matt Stratton’s line-drive attempt barely cleared the goal line, as the Saints (2-0) held on.

Joe Juliano completed 10 of 19 passes for 111 yards, one touchdown and one interception and Che Holloway rushed for 63 yards in 12 carries. Holloway also had a 92-yard kickoff return for a touchdown.

Zak completed 10 of 15 passes for 149 yards and Tony Lavia rushed for 74 yards in 15 carries to lead the Saints. Eric Reese added 72 yards in offense, including a 50-yard touchdown reception.
