OUTLOOK

Out of the blocks, the Comanches are the favorites to take the league title and possibly be a Top 10 county team. All five starters return from last year’s team, which finished second behind Villa Park and reached the second round of the playoffs. A total of 12 players return from that squad, including four seniors. Canyon has the most experience--three seniors and two junior starters--and the most height in the league, with no starter under 5-7. Kuhlmann, a 5-10 point guard and first-team all-league selection last season, led the team with a 13-point average and should be able to improve on that from the shooting guard spot. Brown averaged 10 points last season and is also expected to increase her scoring. Spjut and Fish, who averaged eight points each, will need to step up this year. The team has grown together over the last season under Herrera.
