Facts and Figures: Servite and Westminster are favorites to win the league’s first title, but traditional Orange County powers Ocean View and Tustin figure to be tough. . . . Tustin lost 15 lettermen from last season’s team. Tiller Rick Gonzalez hit .396 as a sophomore. . . . Servite’s Brian Greene was 5-1 with a 1.46 earned-run average. The Friars’ Jon Goldsmith hit .382 with 16 stolen bases. . . . Westminster’s Kent Montgomery is the league’s best pitcher. He was 9-2 with a 1.45 ERA and walked only 10 batters in 77 innings. . . . Ocean View’s Jason Hoffman hit .300 with 10 stolen bases and 18 runs scored.

Highlights: Tustin won the Sea View League and reached the Division III second round before losing to Lancaster Antelope Valley, 8-2. . . . Saddleback finished second to Tustin and reached the Division III second round before losing to La Quinta, 10-1. The Roadrunners’ Tony Zuniga was the Sea View League player of the year. . . . Servite finished second in the Sunset League and lost to Katella, 2-0, in the Division I first round.
