Hart’s Baker Signs With Northridge

Hart High pitcher Chris Baker announced he has signed a letter of intent with Cal State Northridge.
“They have a good coaching staff for pitchers and they’re the only school that offered me a scholarship,” Baker said.
Baker, a right-hander who was 8-2 at Hart, has pitched exceptionally well during American Legion this season, compiling a 10-0 record with an earned-run average of 1.42. In 78 2/3 innings he has 96 strikeouts.
Soccer
The California Flyers, a youth soccer team that has nine players from La Canada High on its roster, has advanced to the final of the United States Youth Soccer national championships.
La Canada High’s Chaplin Early broke a 1-1 tie with a goal in the 81st minute. High school teammate Gaston Haupert assisted on the winning goal.
The Flyers will face Ohio in the final Saturday in West Palm Beach, Fla.
