Master’s Loses Guard Cathey to Grades
The Master’s College men’s team will be without starting guard Jeremiah Cathey until at least Jan. 13.
Cathey, a 5-foot-11 junior transfer from Cuesta College, is academically ineligible until he makes up a class during the school’s interim session, Coach Bill Oates said.

Jake Brinton (6-4, 250 pounds), an All-Coast Conference tight end, said Wednesday he will sign to play at Cal State Northridge.

Sam Wilson, an All-Western State Conference South Division cornerback at Valley College, has committed to play at Fresno State.
Wilson, who played at Kennedy High, had three interceptions for the Monarchs this season.

Soccer
Chaminade High midfielder Tami Pivnick has committed to California.
Pivnick had 22 goals and 15 assists last season and helped the Eagles to a Southern Section Division III playoff berth before suffering a knee injury. She has played sparingly this season.
