Saddleback Wins Conference Golf Title
Saddleback showed its depth and consistency by shooting 373 as a team in the morning and afternoon rounds to win the Orange Empire Conference golf tournament by 26 shots at Singing Hills Country Club in El Cajon.
Saddleback’s Michael McGinley shot 69 and 74 and was the tournament medalist at 143. The Gauchos, who were 17-0 in conference this season, finished at 746. Cuyamaca (772) was second, Palomar (775) third and Orange Coast (812) fourth.
Saddleback’s Luis Barrutieta (147) was second and teammate Lee Kinney (148) third.
