The first and only meeting of these teams came two years ago, when Los Alamitos won a 7-0 thriller. Friday’s matchup could be just as competitive. Long Beach Poly, which has sent 37 players to the NFL, has its usual complement of excellent athletes, from sophomore quarterback Chris Lewis to senior linebacker Michael Pollard. Also watch out for defensive back Daryl Rideaux, who has six interceptions and eight blocked kicks. Los Alamitos’ concern is whether Ife Ohalete’s thigh bruise has had enough time to heal so he can return to the offense. A decision will be made at game time.
