Fillmore High senior center April Kozar has been named Tri-Valley League girls’ basketball player of the year, the second season in a row the award has gone to a Flash.
Kozar helped Fillmore to a 29-1 league record and three titles in three seasons as a starter. She averaged 27 points, 19.5 rebounds and two blocks in league play this season.
Allison Sain of La Reina was named coach of the year.

Seven area girls’ soccer players are among 24 from Southern California recently selected to the California Youth Soccer Assn. South State Olympic Development Team in the under-19 age group.
Selected were Tammy Rosen and Melissa Rubey of Agoura Hills, Fiona Macdonald of Ojai, Tracey Milburn of Moorpark, Kristie Nakamura and Darlene Rini of Thousand Oaks and Cristy Delorenzo of Westlake Village.
