Hamade’s 2 Touchdowns Help Costa Mesa Handle Sea Kings

COSTA MESA — Vince Hamade rushed for 111 yards and scored two touchdowns to lead Costa Mesa to a 24-0 nonleague victory over Corona del Mar Friday night at Orange Coast College.
Hamade, who carried the ball 21 times, put Costa Mesa (2-0) up, 7-0, with 27 seconds left in the first quarter on a 16-yard run. After a scoreless second quarter, Hamade gave the Mustangs a 14-0 lead on a 14-yard run with 6:57 left in the third.
Quarterback Ronnie Lievanos connected with Jerry Cleveland on a 13-yard touchdown pass with 2:08 left in the third giving the Mustangs a 21-0 lead.
Kicker Matt Peca rounded out the scoring for Costa Mesa with a 40-yard field goal.
Nick Hood and Dennis Alshuler shared the quarterback spot for Corona del Mar (0-2). Hood completed six of 17 passes for 41 yards and Alshuler completed five of 17 for 41 yards.
