In other Division II matches:

Aliso Niguel 15, Downey Warren 3--Jason Mednick, ranked 26th among 18-year-olds by the Southern California Tennis Association, won, 6-1, 6-1, 6-2.

Edison 13, Corona 5--Jeff Malway swept at No. 1 singles for visiting Edison (13-5). The Chargers will face Brentwood in the second round Thursday.

Foothill 16, Riverside North 2--No. 3 singles’ player Andrew Finley won, 6-4, 6-1, 6-0, lifting the Knights (15-5) into a second-round contest with Troy, the No. 6-ranked team in the county.

Sunny Hills 17, El Monte Arroyo 1--No. 1 singles’ player Joseph Kao made short work of his opponents, winning, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for the host Lancers (15-6).

University 18, Chino Hills Don Lugo 0--Freshman Jack Li, playing in the No. 3 singles’ spot, won, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0 for the top-seeded Trojans (16-0), who face Aliso Niguel in Thursday’s second round.

In Division I:

Capistrano Valley 18, Fountain Valley 0--Playing singles for only the second time this season, Chad Whitdfeldt swept, 6-1, 6-1, 6-0, for Capistrano Valley, which defeated Fountain Valley, 16-2, earlier in the season. Mike Nguyen also swept in singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for the Cougars (16-1).

Corona del Mar 17, Diamond Bar 1--Third-seeded Corona del Mar (17-4), the defending champions, swept all of its singles sets, losing only 19 games. No. 2 singles player Cameron Ball, the Pacific Coast League singles champion, won his sets 6-0, 6-1, 6-0 for the host Sea Kings.

Dana Hills 12, Long Beach Wilson 6--Sophomore Sumil Menon, playing in the No. 3 slot, salvaged the lone singles victories for the Dolphins (15-5), winning, 6-3, 6-4, 7-6.

Irvine 15, Santa Ana 3--Hadley Ogle and Eric Aarnaes each swept his singles sets to lead visiting Irvine (11-8) as they handed previously unbeaten Santa Ana (20-1) its first loss of the season. Los Alamitos 18, Long Beach Jordan 0--No. 3 doubles team Wagner Wong and Jun Yanai swept their sets without losing a game for fourth-seeded Los Alamitos (16-3).

In first round of Division III:

Brea Olinda 17, El Monte 1--Seniors John Golub and Matt Balent swept their No. 3 sets, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1 for Brea Olinda, which plays Woodbridge in the second round.

Canyon 16, Hemet 2--John Nguyen swept in singles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, and Kevin Saman and Travis Kula teamed to sweep in doubles, 6-0, 6-0, 6-1, for the Comanches (18-2).

Woodbridge 17, Villa Park 1--Brett Van Linge (43-8) swept his singles sets without dropping a game for fourth-seeded Woodbridge.

In Division IV:

Servite 16, Savanna 2--Sophomore Pat Buchanan ran his winning streak to 51 sets without a loss this season after sweeping, 6-0, 6-0, 6-0, for Servite (14-7).
