A La Serna mistake led to Troy’s second score. Lancer punter Daron Carson dropped the snap and was tackled on his own three-yard line.

Evenson ran it in on the next play, and McCarthy made it 14-0 with a two-point conversion run.

The Warriors increased their lead to 21-0 on Evenson’s two-yard run 3:37 before halftime, capping a 14-play, 72-yard drive.

After La Serna (2-1) failed to move on its first series after halftime, Troy took only four plays to go 47 yards for a 28-0 lead. The score came on a 28-yard pass from Jordan Oliver to Ryan Welch with 9:09 left in the third quarter.

Evenson then finished the scoring in the third quarter on a five-yard run with 1:43 left.
