Section’s Elite Ready for Extravaganzas

Share

A City Section rule that forbids teams from playing or practicing on holidays prevented boys’ and girls’ basketball teams from participating in multigame showcases that were staged last week in honor of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.

On Saturday, however, some of the section’s best teams are taking part in two events billed as extravaganzas.

Defending boys’ champion Westchester, runner-up Crenshaw and Fairfax are in the nine-game Nike Extravaganza at the Pyramid.
