Westlake Village Westlake (3-0) vs. Newhall Hart (1-0) at College of the Canyons, 7:30 p.m.

A year ago, Westlake ended Hart’s winning streak at 25 games. The Warriors recorded 11 sacks in their 23-13 victory.

Westlake has the advantage of having played three games to Hart’s one. The Warriors have outscored their opposition, 136-26. Their offensive line has dominated opponents behind senior tackle Steve Hall (6-foot-3, 280 pounds) and junior guard Zach Verdin (6-1, 275).

Hart’s offense struggled in a season-opening 34-0 victory over Wilmington Banning. Hart’s defense must deal with Westlake running back Jonathan Contos, who is averaging 11.5 yards per carry.

Los Angeles Fremont (1-0) at San Pedro (1-0), 7 p.m.

Fremont looks at this game as an opportunity to show it belongs among the City Section elite.

The Pathfinders feature one of the section’s best quarterbacks in Abe Escobar and two of its most athletic receivers in Mark Bradford and Shelvion Williams. Escobar completed 16 of 24 passes for 259 yards and two touchdowns and running back Milvon James rushed for 136 yards and two touchdowns in Fremont’s 34-12 victory over Los Angeles Hamilton.

San Pedro beat Los Angeles Locke, 38-6, in its opener. Quarterback Rob Reedy completed 12 of 19 passes for 100 yards and two touchdowns.

South Coast tournament final, Newport Beach Newport Harbor High, 3:40 p.m.

Nine of the region’s top 10 teams are entered in the three-day tournament. Top-ranked Corona del Mar opened play Thursday in the same bracket as No. 4 Long Beach Wilson and No. 10 Anaheim Esperanza. Those teams will play at Corona del Mar High, one of four sites used for the three-day tournament.

Second-ranked Anaheim Servite is competing in a bracket at Placentia El Dorado High that includes No. 3 Santa Ana Foothill and No. 9 Huntington Beach Edison. No. 5 San Clemente is at Tustin High and No. 6 Lake Forest El Toro and No. 8 Villa Park are at Newport Harbor.

The quarterfinals will be at 6 tonight at each of the four sites. The semifinals will be at 9:50 and 11 a.m. Saturday at Newport Harbor.

Dana Hills Invitational, Dana Hills High, 8 a.m.

Dana Point Dana Hills and Murrieta Valley, the Nos. 1-and 2-ranked girls’ teams in the Southern Section Division I poll, will race each other in a meet that is broken down into class races. The Division I boys’ competition will include third-ranked El Toro, No. 5 Dana Hills and No. 7 Riverside Rubidoux.
