Whittier Hires Bridges to Coach Softball

Whittier College has selected Erin Bridges as its softball coach and as a women’s soccer assistant. A 2000 graduate of UC San Diego, Bridges was chosen the school’s athlete of the year as a senior, when she was an All-American softball player.

* Pete Tereschuk, who coached the Laguna Hills High baseball team from 1989-99 and was an assistant last season, has been hired to replace Jeff Cecil. Cecil resigned to take an assistant coaching position at Chapman University.

* Former UCLA All-American DeeDee Weiman has joined the Cal State Fullerton softball program as an assistant coach. Weiman, who led the Bruins to NCAA championships in 1990 and 1992, was an assistant at Wisconsin the last three seasons.
