* In a rematch of the last three City Section championship games, San Pedro defeated Carson, 2-1, in the Downey tournament Friday. Tournament most valuable player Ashley Esparza threw a two-hitter for San Pedro (18-0).

* Ingrid Aguirre of Los Angeles Locke was six for six Thursday with two home runs, a triple, two doubles and eight runs batted in in a 33-7, four-inning victory over L.A. Manual Arts in a Coliseum League game.

* Sherman Oaks Notre Dame scored twice in the bottom of the seventh Wednesday and defeated West Hills Chaminade, 2-1, in a Mission League game. Kristen Anderson’s two-out, two-run single sealed Notre Dame’s sixth consecutive victory.

ON DECK

* Quarterfinal games of the Woodbridge tournament scheduled for Monday were postponed because of rain and will be played Saturday, followed by the semifinals, at Barber Park in Irvine. Among the quarterfinals is No. 4 Orange El Modena vs. No. 8 Thousand Oaks at noon.

* Goleta Dos Pueblos will try to move into a first-place tie in the Channel League when it plays at Ventura Buena on Friday.
