Appeared vulnerable early but won third consecutive Southern Section title and finished fourth at CIF-SCGA championship.
2. RIVERSIDE POLY
(13-0-1, SS-Eastern)
Won Eastern Division by 15 strokes but came up two strokes short of section title. Runner-up finish was best since winning 1976 championship.
3. CERRITOS
(18-0, SS-Central)
Advanced to CIF-SCGA finals for first time and finished as runner-up. Suburban League champions averaged 190 during regular season.
4. HUNTINGTON BEACH
(17-0, SS-Southern)
Southern Division champions were undefeated in difficult Sunset League. Finished second among 108 teams in Myrtle Beach national tournament.
5. MURRIETA VALLEY
(14-4, SS-Desert)
Tied for fifth at section finals after finishing second at Desert Divisional. Won share of title in competitive Southwestern League.
6. LOYOLA
(16-2, SS-Northern)
Lost last two regular-season matches and finished second in Mission League. Rallied to win Northern Division title, then tied for fifth at section finals.
7. WOODBRIDGE
(18-0, SS-South Coast)
Biggest surprise this season was when Warriors finished third at South Coast Divisional and missed advancing to section finals by one stroke.
8. DIAMOND BAR
(15-3, SS-Southern)
Return of top player Daniel Cho from academic probation transformed Brahmas from Sierra League runner-up to fourth-place finishers in Southern Section.
9. PALM DESERT
(13-5, SS-Eastern)
Second in Eastern Divisional and tied for eighth in section finals in last hurrah for retiring coach Tim Kabeary.
10. GAHR
(16-0, SS-Central)
Cruised to San Gabriel Valley League title, won Central Divisional and tied for eighth at Southern Section finals.
