A 34-year-old man was killed Sunday morning after he tumbled out of a party bus limousine on the 710 Freeway in East Los Angeles and was struck by a car, the California Highway Patrol said.

The coroner’s office has not yet released the man’s identity, but the CHP has arrested the suspected hit-and-run driver.

Albert Deleon, a 48-year-old resident of Los Angeles, is accused of hitting the victim and fleeing the scene.

The victim, a resident of Bell Gardens, was riding in a 1999 Ford F-550 party bus with 16 other people about 3:30 a.m. when a door opened for an unknown reason, the CHP said.

Two passengers who were standing in a stairwell next to the door fell out, including Elizabeth Marie Rangel, a 30-year-old resident of Downey. Rangel suffered moderate injuries, but managed to get to a freeway shoulder without getting hit by any cars. She was taken to a local hospital.

No one else was injured.

The male victim was hit by at least one car and pronounced dead at the scene, officers said.

CHP officers linked Deleon to the collision through a front license plate found at the scene and other physical evidence. Officials said it had been determined that Deleon was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs at the time.
