Rugby team wins championship

The Hawaiian Gardens girls rugby team are regional champions.
The team of girls 14 and under beat Back Bay from San Diego County 25-0, in the Southern California Youth Rugby championship game Sunday in San Luis Obispo. The team was the subject of an article in The Times on Saturday. Tiny Hawaiian Gardens has emerged as a youth-rugby power in the last two years.
