The San Clemente boys’ volleyball team began a busy week and gained momentum for Saturday’s Goleta Dos Pueblos tournament by defeating Irvine Woodbridge for the Division I title of the Orange County Championships on Monday at Huntington Beach Edison.

The sixth-ranked Tritons (14-2), who play host to Laguna Beach Tuesday, got a combined 14 kills from brothers Corey and Curtis Yoder in the victory over No. 7 Woodbridge (10-3).

Curtis Yoder was selected most valuable player. The Tritons, who won the title last year, ran off eight consecutive points in the third game to end a 3-3 tie and take control of the match.
