Baseball: Breakthrough Series is coming to Compton this summer
Major league baseball will showcase about 200 high school players around the country at four locations, including Compton, as part of its Breakthrough Series this summer.
The Urban Youth Academy in Compton will be the Southern California site for the Breakthrough Series, to take place between July 19 and July 28. Other sites will be in Cincinnati, Brooklyn and Bradenton, Fla.
The event promotes baseball as a collegiate and professional option for urban youth.
