Baseball: Fountain Valley will try to cool off Huntington Beach
- Share via
The last chance to stop Huntington Beach (15-2, 8-0) and its march toward a Sunset League title and possible No. 1 seeding in the Southern Section Division 1 playoffs could be this week. Fountain Valley (13-6 7-1) gets the Oilers on Wednesday at Huntington Beach and again on Friday at Fountain Valley.
Fountain Valley has one of league’s best hiitting attacks, led by Willie Aguilar, who’s batting .429. Brock Lundquist has hit five home runs. Friday’s expected starting pitcher, Scott Schultz, is 8-0.
They should offer a strong challenge to a Huntington Beach team that has relied on terrific relief pitching from Hagen Danner and Logan Pouelsen.
