Baseball: Last-inning drama for Fountain Valley-Los Alamitos games
Fountain Valley and Los Alamitos played three times in Sunset League games this season, and each one was decided by the home team in the final at-bat.
On March 27 at Fountain Valley, the Barons won, 4-3, when JT Navarro scored on a wild pitch with two outs in the bottom of the seventh.
On Wednesday at Los Alamitos, the Griffins won, 9-8, on an RBI single by Dicky Brown in the bottom of the seventh.
On Friday at Fountain Valley, the Barons won, 3-2, in 10 innings when Pierson Loska drove in Navarro from second base in the 10th.
That’s three walk-off games and lots of celebrating for the winning teams.
Fountain Valley (18-8, 7-4) has won 10 of its last 12 games and faces first-place Huntington Beach this week in a two-game series on Wednesday at Fountain Valley and Friday at Huntington Beach.
