Baseball: Sophomore Will Smiley throws no-hitter for Crescenta Valley

Sophomore pitcher Will Smiley threw a no-hitter in Crescenta Valley’s 8-0 Pacific League victory over host Muir on Tuesday.

Charles Weinmann went three for four. Crescenta Valley improved to 15-5 overall and 7-0 in league.

Arcadia 8, Burroughs 4: The Apaches handed Burroughs its first Pacific League loss in eight innings. Ryan Tuck went four for four. Jason Whaley had two RBIs for Burroughs.

Gahr 10, Warren 0: Junior left-hander Josh Haley threw a three-hitter, striking out three. Sophomore Michael Perez had a home run, triple and double while driving in four runs.

Orange Lutheran 4, Servite 1: Zach Busalacchi went three for three with two RBIs to help the No. 1-ranked Lancers improve to 4-0 in the Trinity League. Four pitchers struck out nine Servite batters.

Santa Margarita 9, St. John Bosco 5: Johnny Carr finished with three hits and three RBIs in the Trinity League win. Josh Nicoloff and Derek Park added two hits apiece.

Harvard-Westlake 7, Loyola 0: Sophomore Jesse Bergin threw the shutout for the Wolverines in a Mission League victory. He allowed six hits. John Thomas and Jake Suddleson each had two hits for Harvard-Westlake.

Sherman Oaks Notre Dame 1, Crespi 0: Jamie Robertson struck out five and allowed four hits for the Knights. Noah Taylor drove in the game’s only run in the fourth inning. Danny Silva allowed one run in five innings for Crespi and also had two hits.

Alemany 9, St. Francis 8: The Warriors came back from a 6-0 deficit to win the Mission League game. Dominic Ruggiero and Nick Pico had three hits each. Blaine Traxel got the save.

Great Oak 7, Chaparral 1: Zack Noll struck out 12, walked one and allowed four hits to lead Great Oak. Brandon Stewart had three hits.

Etiwanda 16, Los Osos 6: Chris Jimenez had a home run, two doubles and a single and finished with four RBIs for Etiwanda.

Damien 17, Upland 6: James Free contributed three hits and five RBIs and Daniel Benedict had three htis and two RBIs for Damien. Joe De Fina hit a grand slam.

North 3, Arlington 2: David Magallanez threw a complete game, striking out seven. Christian Koss had two hits.

Murrieta Valley 11, Vista Murrieta 3: Joey Fregosi and Walker Keller each had three hits for Murrieta Valley.

Beckman 12, Irvine 10: Austin Schell had three hits and four RBIs, including a home run, to lead Beckman. Jack Owens also hit a home run.

Campbell Hall 5, Crossroads 1: R.J. Collins struck out seven in a complete game. Ryan Croutch had three RBIs.

Sierra Canyon 4, Brentwood 1: Jake Patterson finished with three hits and Noah Levin had two RBIs.

Culver City 6, El Segundo 1: Eli Saucedo threw six innings, giving up five hits while striking out three.

Woodbridge 10, University 1: Jake Larson pitched Woodbridge to the victory.

Kennedy 20, Panorama 0: The Golden Cougars won the Valley Mission League win.

Palisades 11, Fairfax 0: Justin Hirschberg threw four shutout innings for the Dolphins.

Santa Barbara 7, Ventura 0: Kevin Gowdy struck out 14, walked none, gave up four hits and ran his scoreless innings streak to 21.

Bishop Amat 11, Cathedral 1: Dante Castillo went four for five and Torreahno Sweet went four for four to lead Bishop Amat in a Del Rey League game.

St. Paul 4, La Salle 0: St. Paul won the Del Rey League game.
