Santa Clara Coach Kerry Keating was in the Sierra Canyon gym on Monday night taking a look at Alemany’s athletic 6-foot-4 junior Earnie Sears, a top high jumper who keeps improving in basketball.

He had 18 points on Monday night in the Warriors’ 72-51 win over St. Genevieve in an opening game of the Sierra Canyon tournament.

Alemany (4-1) doesn’t have much size but the Warriors have quickness and play hard and with Shacquille Dawkins directing the attack, they should be a factor in the Mission League race.
