Anthony Ballestero leads Comanches past Westlake
An 11-0 spurt between the third and fourth quarters and a 13-0 run to end the game propelled Anaheim Canyon past Westlake, 71-54, in the Southern Section Division 2AA championship game on Saturday at the Honda Center.
Anthony Ballestero scored 20 points and Nick Anderson had 20 points and 16 rebounds for the Comanches, who were trailing, 45-40, in the third quarter when things turned around. After making just 2 of 14 shots from three-point range in the first half, Canyon (28-4) was 8 of 13 in the second half.
Jeremiah Gray and Michael Hayon led Westlake (25-6) with 15 points apeice and Isaiah Brooks had 11 points. It was the second consecutive year Westlake has been beaten in the final.
