The powerful Western League, dominated by Fairfax and Westchester, could have another solid basketball team with Palisades gaining several new players who could make immediate contributions.
Among the newcomers is 6-foot-8 sophomore Ron Artest III, son of former Lakers player Metta World Peace, who’s helping coach the Palisades girls’ basketball team.
“He is dynamic,” Coach Vejas Anaya said of Artest.
Also joining the Dolphins is point guard Myles McLin, a transfer from Fremont, and 6-2 Ish Harris, a transfer from Hamilton.
Palisades returns seven varsity players.
“We’re still trying to learn how to play with each other,” Anaya said.
