Boys’ basketball: Stanley Johnson leads team to championship
Reaffirming his reputation as one of the best players in the nation, Stanley Johnson of Santa Ana Mater Dei scored 23 points, had 11 rebounds and five assists to help USA West defeat USA South, 98-95, in the championship game of the Nike Global Challenge on Saturday in Washington, D.C.
Johnson was named co-MVP of the tournament with D’Angelo Russell of USA South.
Daniel Hamilton from Bellflower St. John Bosco added nine points and seven rebounds. Kameron Chatman from Long Beach Poly had four points.
