Football: Dick Butkus’ grandson is a 6-8 defensive end for Loyola

You can’t miss Ian Parish on the football field at Loyola High.
He’s the Cubs’ giant 6-foot-8, 225-pound junior defensive end-tight end.
He’s also a middle blocker in volleyball.
“It’s good to have a dual-sport athlete,” Coach Marvin Sanders said.
Parish has good genes. His grandfather is Dick Butkus, the Hall of Fame middle linebacker from the Chicago Bears.
Sanders was born and raised on the south side of Chicago, so he’s very familiar with Butkus.
Asked if he sought an autograph, Sanders said, “I already had it.”
Loyola has a scrimmage on Friday against Redondo and opens its season against Harvard-Westlake next week on the road.
