Football: Linebacker Joseph Silva of Garfield is fired up

Share

Junior linebacker Joseph Silva, who leads Garfield in tackles with 65, was so fired up on Monday for the first day of practice during Roosevelt week that his own teammates didn’t know what to think.

“Who wants to get hit?” he was telling teammates in the locker room.

Garfield Coach Lorenzo Hernandez said, “That guy has no regard for his body or anyone else’s body. He’s just very physical.”

Garfield plays Roosevelt on Friday at 7:30 p.m. at East Los Angeles College. Now, if only Silva can make it to Friday without injuring himself or anyone else.
