Soccer: Anaheim team wins U14 title at National Premier League finals

Anaheim FC (U14 boys) took home the U.S. Club Soccer’s National Premier League championship last weekend in Colorado. And what a team it is.
Created to allow families to have their children play club soccer without the high costs that some larger programs charge, Anaheim FC included six players from Sunny Hills High and three from Fullerton.
One of the stars was Diego Useda, a striker who scored nine goals. He will be a sophomore at Sunny Hills and helped the team win a Southern Section Division 2 title last season. Gio Ortiz, another Sunny Hills sophomore, was captain of the team.
Goalie Michael Fernandez, who will be a freshman at Fullerton, had two tough saves in the championshp game. Another major contributor was Alexis Benavidez, who will be a sophomore at Fullerton.
There were also players from Lakewood, La Habra, St. John Bosco and Long Beach Millikan.
