Back from a two-week vacation, here’s some news that has happened:
Santa Margarita’s basketball program has picked up the Rasheed brothers, junior Noah and sophomore Kaden, from Mission Viejo. Both are promising guards. They’ve also added incoming freshmen 6-foot-8 Race Parks and 6-6 Jordan Guest.
Oaks Christian Coach Bill Redell has named junior Holden Thomas as his team’s starting quarterback. The Lions also intend to keep freshman quarterback Matt Corral on varsity and put in a package of plays to take advantage of his speed.
Former Bishop Amat baseball Coach Andy Nieto interviewed on Tuesday for the vacant Damien position. Nieto was a finalist at St. John Bosco.
Former Chatsworth baseball Coach Tom Meusborn said, “I am returning to CSUN at this time.” There has been talk of him returning to Chatsworth after being an assistant coach last season at Cal State Northridge.
Karla Zapata is the new girls’ basketball coach at Sylmar.
Derek Uyesaka is the new boys’ and girls’ golf coach at Santa Ana Mater Dei.
