Chino wins Division 2 softball title

Chino High won its second consecutive Southern Section softball championship Saturday in Irvine after defeating Lakewood, 4-0, in the Division 2 final.
Miranda Viramontes threw a one-hitter, striking out eight. Ruby Barroso hit a home run.
In Division 4, Hemet defeated Santa Monica, 16-2. Jade Gandara led a 20-hit attack with four hits for the Bulldogs.
In the Division 6 final, shortstop Monique Landini of Burbank Bell-Jeff hit two home runs in an 8-4 victory over San Pedro Mary Star. The Guards had three home runs overall.
In Division 1, Corona Santiago defeated Norco, 8-2.
