Russell Is Perfect for Woodbridge

Patti Russell pitched a perfect game to lead Woodbridge High School to a 3-0 victory over Arcadia in a Southern Section 3-A softball quarterfinal game at Arcadia Friday.

Russell, who struck out four, recorded her third no-hitter of the season. Russell improved her record to 9-1.

Woodbridge’s Jenny Allard broke a scoreless tie in the seventh inning when her double drove in Sandra Schoonover and Tiffany Boyd. Allard later scored on a fielder’s choice.

Woodbridge advances to Tuesday’s section semifinal, where it will meet Valencia at a site to be determined.
