Mt. SAC Cross-Country Starts Today

Arroyo of El Monte and Palos Verdes, the top boys’ and girls’ high school cross-country teams in the state, are among 275 schools scheduled to compete today and Saturday in the Mt. San Antonio College Invitational at Walnut. The small-school races begin today at 2:30 p.m. The medium- and large-school races begin Saturday at 8 a.m.
The boys’ featured team sweepstakes race is set for Saturday at 10 a.m. and will be followed by the girls’ race at 10:50. Arroyo should be challenged by San Jose Bellarmine and Orangevale Casa Robles in the boys’ competition. Palos Verdes’ girls should be tested by Arroyo Grande, Huntington Beach Ocean View and Thousand Oaks.
