Orange County Prep Soccer : McIntyre Leads Laguna Hills

Heather McIntyre scored her 20th goal of the season as Laguna Hills High School, the top-ranked 3-A girls’ soccer team, defeated Woodbridge, 2-0, at Woodbridge. Erin McGinnis also scored for the Hawks (4-0, 15-0-4).

Goalkeeper Lynn Lambert recorded her fourth league shutout with 13 saves. Nikki Griebe made 16 saves for Woodbridge (2-1-1, 5-7-3), which held Laguna Hills to its lowest score in league play this season.

In the Garden Grove League:

La Quinta 2, Garden Grove 1--Jennifer Prchal scored on a free kick midway through the second half, lifting the Aztecs at Garden Grove. La Quinta is 4-0, 18-3-1. Garden Grove is 2-2 in league.

In the South Coast League:

Mission Viejo 1, Irvine 0--Tammy Van OpDorp scored in the first half for the undefeated Diablos (5-0, 18-0-1), top-ranked in 4-A. Irvine is 0-5 in league.

In the Sunset League:

Westminster 1, Huntington Beach 1--Nicki Bladow scored for the Lions (0-1-4) midway through the second half, tying the match. Caroline Zacher scored for the Oilers (1-2-3 in league).

In boys’ soccer:

In the Orange League:

Brea-Olinda 2, Valencia 1--Ken Claborn scored a left-footed goal with a minute remaining, lifting Brea at home. The victory puts the Wildcats (3-0-1, 9-4-3) in first place.

In the Angelus League:

Mater Dei 1, Bishop Montgomery 0--Chris Mastropaolo scored on an assist by Paul Oldham in the first half as Mater Dei (7-1, 14-2) moved into first place. Bishop Montgomery is 6-1-1, 11-3-4.

Servite 2, St. Paul 1--Robert Sanchez scored for St. Paul (2-5, 2-8-1) in the third minute of the game. Irwin Garcia and Rhett Harty scored for Servite (4-4, 7-9).
