Burbank High and Hart, which finished 1-2 in Foothill League play this season, ended their seasons Thursday with disappointing outings at the Southern Section Central regional at the California Country Club in Whittier.

Hart finished in 11th place at 413, followed by Burbank in 12th at 414 on the par-72, 7,000-yard course. Both teams failed to advance to the CIF/Southern California Golf Assn. final June 8 at North Ranch Country Club in Westlake Village.

“We really gagged after the first six holes,” Burbank Coach Dave Kemp said. “I think the team thought they had already shot their way out of it by then.”

The Bulldogs finished 16 strokes behind Palos Verdes (398), the third of three teams that advanced to North Ranch. Beverly Hills (389) won the tournament.

Sophomores Corby Segal, Mike Parrinello and Steve Cardarelli each shot 81, and seniors Kevin Bailey and Keith Kettering shot 88 for Burbank.
