The Colleges : Wrestling Coach at Cypress Plans to Take Time Off
Ray Haas, Cypress College wrestling coach for the past 21 years, will take a one-semester sabbatical next fall, the college announced Tuesday.
Haas will be replaced for the season by Mike Flook, who has been Haas’ assistant the past three seasons.
Haas, 46, said he is taking the semester off to enroll in the health science graduate program at Cal State Long Beach and to take some time off from the stress involved with coaching.
Haas has a dual-meet career record of 283-38-3 at Cypress, which finished third in the state last season.
