2 Moorpark Wrestlers Win at State Meet
Eric Millsap and Emanuel Gallegos of Moorpark College came away victorious in opening-round wrestling matches Friday at the state championships at El Camino College.
Millsap (118 pounds) defeated Ralph Rebaya of El Camino, by a technical fall, after recording 11 takedowns. Gallegos (158) pinned Santa Rosa’s Jason Harrod 6:37 into the match.
The tournament concludes today, with heavyweight Vince Plymire, Serge Mezheritsky (142) and Carson Wollert (190), all of Moorpark, making their debuts. Plymire and Mezheritsky are favored to take titles after winning last week’s South-Central regional.
