CALIFORNIA IN BRIEF : SACRAMENTO : Lottery Plans Added $10-Million Jackpot
The California Lottery will welcome the new decade by paying a surprise, $10-million Lotto jackpot bonus sometime this month, lottery officials announced. Timing of the bonus will be kept secret until just before the draw and then announced, officials said. Players will be alerted by the media and retailers immediately after the bonus is added. “The $10-million jackpot bonus celebrates 10 years of the new decade and all of the opportunities they represent,” said Brad Haley, on-line manager of the lottery.
