Share

The offensive woes of the Cal State Northridge soccer team continued Saturday in a 1-0 double-overtime loss to host Portland.

Scott Sager scored with one minute left in the second 15-minute overtime period to drop the Matadors to 1-2 in their inaugural Division I season.

Sager scored on a header after a crossing pass by Joe Leonetti.

“It was a fairly close match,” Portland Coach Clive Charles said.

“Portland had three to four good chances it didn’t convert. Going on chances, Portland should have won two or three to nil.”
