CITY SECTION ROUNDUP : Gable Dashes 67 Yards on Final Play to Lift North Hollywood

Running back Leon Gable ran 67 yards for a touchdown on the game’s final play as North Hollywood High stunned Palisades, 31-26, in a nonleague game at North Hollywood.

Gable broke through Palisades’ defensive line and was knocked down on one hand but regained his balance as time ran out and darted along the left sideline for the deciding score. He finished with 147 yards in 23 carries and four touchdowns, including an 86-yard kick-off return.

Quarterback Chris Carrillo completed six of 14 passes for 89 yards and two touchdowns to help balance the attack for the Huskies (1-1).

Palisades (0-1-1) had taken a 26-25 lead with 5:33 left in the game when quarterback Keith Bowers completed a 14 yard touchdown strike to DeShawn Sykes.
